To provide clarity and insight into today’s salary and bonus structures for business services professionals in law, we are delighted to announce that we are (re)launching TOTUM’s business services reward survey. This is your chance to participate in this cutting-edge research, the findings from which will inform and strengthen your compensation and reward strategy at a time of significant change and uncertainty.
In this rapidly shifting market, accessing up-to-date and robust, legal-market-specific compensation data and insight is needed more than ever. Due to popular demand, we are bringing back our comprehensive benchmarking survey providing detailed insights into salaries, bonuses and benefits agreed across firms, business services functions and roles.
Working alongside Lamp House Strategy, the new legal insights business created and led by Lisa Hart Shepherd, formerly CEO at Acritas, we have updated and refreshed the survey this year. Applying our specialist industry expertise, the research will cover new and emerging business services roles, as well as findings on remote worker salaries and cost-of-living payments, ensuring that the report reflects the very latest developments impacting our sector.
The research will not only allow you to benchmark your reward strategy across generalist and specialist roles against those in other firms but will also enable you to drill down into your peer group data and access the data outputs.
We have designed the survey alongside a panel of law firms to guarantee outputs of significant value. We also plan to bring the market together via webinar to debate the trends and insights we uncover, and you will be welcome to participate in these conversations as we unpick the findings and consider the implications for future decision making.
Of course, the more firms that participate, the more useful and insightful the survey will be – creating a larger and more substantive benchmarking tool. That is why we need you!
Participation is simple: if you agree to take part, we will send you an Excel template that makes it easy to drop in your roles and compensation information, which we will then analyse alongside the responses to a survey, which we will ask you to complete. This will help us to deliver the highest quality of information and insight across the product.

We are really excited about this, we hope you are too.
