We were recently delighted to sponsor and attend the latest HR in Law awards, held at The HAC, home of the Honourable Artillery Company. We have been honoured to sponsor this event since its inception three years ago, and have enjoyed watching it become bigger and better.

It is also a delight to be at an event dedicated to HR – which is such a growing force for business improvement in the legal profession.

After a champagne reception, Chairman Rob Hind kicked off proceedings with a welcome speech which included a poignant tribute to legal HR professional Mike Orton, who died last year after a long illness, and whose family and friends have since raised considerable donations for Mind, the mental health charity.

We then thoroughly enjoyed the introduction from Comedian Katherine Ryan, a woman leading the way for an event full of successful professional women. It was great to see. The atmosphere was electric as everyone knew each other and took the opportunity to catch up, share stories, and dance the night away.

And the prize goes to...

Totum sponsored the ‘HR team of the year’ award, which was won by Shearman & Sterling, for ‘delivering real business value across a broad range of activities…’ We’d like to take this further opportunity to extend our congratulations to the firm, which also won awards in two other categories – but also to all the winners at this prestigious event. The full list is as follows:

  • Outstanding employee engagement: Mills and Reeve
  • Excellence in direct recruitment: Howard Kennedy
  • Excellence in talent management: Rawlison Butler
