A six month fixed term contract opportunity for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join a top 10 legal firm and sit within the Commercial Finance team. You will support leadership by looking at ways to improve firm, client and matter profitability.

Totum Partners are delighted to be working with a top 10 UK legal firm. An opportunity has arisen to support the Commercial Finance Manager to ensure the highest level of quality exists in the client data of the firm. You will ensure that the integrity of the client and sector data on the firm’s practice management system is robust, commercially sound and in line with policy. The Commercial Finance Analyst will lead on delivery of a data cleansing project focusing on, but not limited to, client grouping, rates, duplicate records, and Partner ownership of records. You will assess the impact of changes to potential client ownership or restructuring of existing client groups upon former and new client relationship partners’ personal performance statistics and coordinating, and arbitrating in, the decision process.

The Commercial Finance Analyst will also be required to work with the Finance Systems Team to ensure that relevant data changes are carried out in a timely manner and effectively communicating the changes to the relevant parties whilst also updating the project, steering group on progress, ensuring that any conflicts or challenges are escalated. You will also assist in the design and implementation of policies, processes and controls to ensure accurate and effective ongoing client record management whilst developing the current client on boarding process to ensure that all relevant information is captured in accordance with the requirements of the business and with the project.

Applicants must be qualified accountants with a minimum 3 years post qualified experience ideally within the legal or professional sector. You must be organised and detail orientated individual with a high level of computer literacy and MS Excel with demonstrable experience of manipulating large data sets. You must also have excellent soft skills including the ability to influence senior stakeholders. There will be a need to work with colleagues across business services and also with senior Partners to obtain approval and ‘buy in’. The role requires an analytical and strategic approach and a high degree of commercial acumen.
