Totum Partners are delighted to be working with one of the City’s leading UK law firm’s in its search for a senior management accountant. This is an interesting opportunity for an individual to help shape the direction of reporting and financial planning, streamline processes, and has lots of scope for someone to develop and add value to the firm’s Management Information. There will also be opportunities to increasingly become immersed with helping with all aspects of financial analysis and reporting, planning and decision support activities.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role include responsibility for the production of the monthly management accounts, including review of the profit and loss account and production of the monthly information packs. The role will co-ordinate with others across the business to ensure the results are understood and major variances can be explained. The role is also responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of all management information to an agreed schedule. A key part of this role will be the development of the firms MI tool. A large focus of the role is being responsible for co-ordinating the annual budgeting and reforecasting cycles for the firm. These are complex processes with a large numbers of stakeholders and as such require careful timetabling and effective communication. This also includes delegation to the wider FP&A team during the budget in order to be able to complete the process in a timely manner. 

Applicants should be qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) accountants with at least two years PQE. The position requires an analytical individual with a solid background of financial accounting with management accounting experience and strong analytical view. You must have intellectual credibility and be confident to communicate effectively with partners, fee earners and business services providing collaborative support and constructive challenge as appropriate. Experience gained within the legal or other professional services sectors is necessary.
