An IT Director is required to provide strategic leadership and direction on the technology required by the firm to support its business activities. This is an important and demanding role and suitable applicants will need to demonstrate previous experience of leading an IT function in a similar environment, preferably law or professional services.  He or she will also possess strong inter-personal and communication skills to manage relationships both internally and externally.

The successful individual will join recent appointments in newly created Innovation and Knowledge Management positions and play a pivotal role in ensuring the firm’s approach to technology, integral to so much business change, is appropriate and progressive.

This position requires proven excellence in three principal competencies:

  • Leadership – to understand the current and future needs of the business and shape the technology strategy to support those needs
  • Delivery of operational excellence – to ensure systems are secure, robust, reliable and properly supported 
  • Team management – to ensure the team is cohesive and, collectively and as individuals, focused on providing the highest standards of service to users 

Suitable candidates will have successful track records in:

  • Leading, developing and managing high calibre people in high performance IT teams which have made a measurable and positive impact to a business.
  • Developing and implementing processes and procedures and strategies that have demonstrably enhanced the quality and efficiency of service delivery.
  • Delivering projects that meet their intended objectives on time and within budget.
  • They will be committed, reliable, organised with the ability to gauge and respond appropriately to people’s perceptions of IT across the firm.
