Totum are delighted to be working with one of the UK’s leading law firms on a newly created Head of International Finance role. This is an exciting new role responsible for the alignment, efficiency and quality of Service that is delivered to all International Offices. Reporting into the CFO and working closely with the International CEO, various regional Managing Partners and Finance Directors, this is a key strategic hire for the firm. The role can be based in one of several of the firm’s offices including in the UK, France, Spain Germany or Asia.

The duties of the role include defining and delivering a finance operating model that enhances the quality, accuracy and delivery of finance services across the international offices; working alongside the CFO and key stakeholders to develop scope, outline deliverables, benefits and overall delivery of finance services; implement International Financial integration and transformation roadmap; identify and resolve legacy set up, reporting and system issues; and develop deep relationships with International managing partners, supporting on improving financial performance, setting financial strategy, efficient financial operating model. The role requires someone who can rapidly win the confidence and respect of the International leadership team and International Managing Partners by demonstrating a high level of professional expertise and insight into the commercial context of the firm, supporting/developing and implementing the vision and strategic financial planning. The role carries overall responsibility for International service levels, control environment and quality agreements.

Applicants should be qualified accountants (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) and have extensive international accounting experience, ideally in a law firm and if not in a large professional service environment. A track record of designing and implementing process improvements should be demonstrable. The nature of the role requires someone with strong technical accounting skills coupled with excellent communication expertise who is sensitive of cultural differences between different jurisdictions. The role will require regular international travel.
