Our client is a genuinely progressive, specialist law firm with a clear and well-articulated strategy.  The firm has enjoyed considerable growth in recent years and now operates out of five offices in the UK.

The firm is now seeing to appoint a new Director of HR and OD. The new appointee will be tasked with moving the function to another level of sophistication and building a best of breed, progressive team which can deliver against a wide range of people objectives in the firm.  This will require a candidate who has expertise in delivering transformation and someone who can point to significant positive outcomes from the initiatives they have led and delivered in previous roles.  Particular priorities at the moment include a need to review and enhance the HR systems, review and develop the L&D strategy as well as to look at the structure of HR team and ensure that as a function there is a good, consistent narrative around the whole people experience.

The Director of HR and OD will report to the Managing Partner and will manage a team of 12 people. The role is based in South West London and will require travel to the firm's other offices as required.

Candidates will most likely have some experience in a senior role in a professional services organisation, although law firm experience is not essential.  What is absolutely required is a candidate with a modern, progressive approach who can lead and motivate a sophisticated function as well as play a significant role in the overall leadership team of the firm.
