WELCOME TO TOTUM PARTNERS
At Totum, we are committed to playing our part in making a positive difference to society.
We believe that the firms that thrive are those with the most diverse team; that's why we work so hard to source the best talent from the broadest pool possible.
Our current projects include:
SEO-London: SEO-London is a charity giving young people from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds access to elite employers and support for career success. As well as listing our vacancies through SEO-London’s job boards, we help the SEO team produce workshops which help candidates to achieve their career goals.
Race Fairness Commitment: Totum is proud to be signed up to the Race Fairness Commitment, which was launched in July 2020. Supported by a number of law firms, internal HR and recruitment teams, plus recruitment firms like Totum, it pledges members to engage in activities to ensure equal access to opportunities for all candidates (click here for more details).
We’re continually working to improve diversity in our workplace. Since 2017 our candidate registration has been evenly split between men and women. In addition, since 2018, over a quarter of our candidates registered as Asian/Asian British, Black/Black British, or mixed/multiple ethnic groups.
It is good to see that we have been able to sustain and improve our results here, although we will continue to strive to ensure equal opportunities for all our candidate community. We welcome ideas and conversations on ways that we can further improve our reach to all candidates and are always keen to work with professional services firms to support diversity initiatives in recruitment.
See our Commitment to Diversity report 2021, which provides more details on specific figures and diversity initiatives over the past year.
Doing what we can to make a difference
At Totum, we’ve given ourselves an objective: to push forward the legal industry (and other industries) in a responsible and sustainable way. Whether we’re creating one-off fundraisers or nurturing long-term relationships with charities, contributing to the community is an integral part of who we are.
Over the years, we’ve worked with a number of fantastic organisations to support all the amazing work they do: The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, Headway SELNWK (supporting individuals and their families/carers affected by brain injury), Clean Break (a charity supporting women who have fallen on tough times to get back into the workplace); and PRIME, an alliance of law firms and legal departments who provide work experience to young people from less privileged backgrounds.
In addition to our on-going projects, we keep our calendar full of fundraising events and opportunities. This year, we sponsored the 2020 London Question of Sport event hosted by Kids Out, a charity that provides safe spaces and positive experiences for children fleeing domestic abuse. We also regularly take part in sponsored walks, concerts, marathon running and skydiving, as well as in-house activities like Halloween make-overs and cake sales.
Every year we sponsor and participate in Law Rocks
It’s an initiative that promotes music education for underprivileged youth. Combining the power of music and the generosity of the global legal community, Law Rocks gives the Totum team an opportunity to swap their laptops for guitars and rock-out in battle of the band gigs in cities across the globe, raising funds for local nonprofit organisations.
We’re continually updating this page. In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding our CSR or would like to chat to someone about our programme, please contact Liz Chappell.
