Gary Jones


Gary is one of the three founding directors of Totum, along with Tim Skipper and Debbie Gray.

He works in partnership to support firms at a senior strategic level, particularly focusing on the recruitment of senior management professionals, including CEOs, COOs, NEDs and all other business leadership positions across all management functions.

Gary has an authentic and pragmatic style, sharing expertise and offering advice but always doing the right thing in a given situation. When a role needs to be filled, his clients know he has the insights and understanding of the business to achieve results. His expertise in HR – gained in-house and through his time in recruitment – means that he can quickly break down the complexities of even the most challenging assignment.

A Scouser, and proud of it, Gary worked for M&S for five years in HR store management before joining Linklaters in 1997. As one of their Heads of HR, his five years there was spent in HR management and recruitment, and he was also heavily involved with the HR aspects of the firm’s merger activity. He then joined the law firm management division of recruitment firm First Counsel in 2003, working with Tim and Debbie. From there, the three of them founded Totum in 2012.
